Professional solutions and Peace of Mind

MINC Risk Services are engaged by Building Owners, Property and Facilities Managers and Lift Companies to conduct annual / regular compliance audits on lifts, escalators and dumb waiter that are in service for general public use in a workplace.

There are several purposes in conducting the inspections.

  • To ensure that the in-built Safety devices are functioning as required by Code
  • To ensure that the mechanical and electrical condition of the installation are being maintained to a satisfactory level
  • To identify if all components and set out of the installation are compliant with the latest version of Lift / Escalator Codes, Building Services legislation, Electrical Codes etc

Note that this is not a Risk and Hazard audit (covered separately) and therefore does not go into detail in regards to this aspect. MINC Risk Services do however, acknowledge a need to be proactive towards Hazard Identification and have modified our reports to highlight any area where an existing or potential hazard are witnessed. This will enable the client to pursue these findings as a separate process following this report.

Using the MINC Risk Services specifically designed checklists for the relevant type of plant – lift, escalator or dumb waiter and incorporating over 300 individual testing items, our auditors collect the data and pictorial evidence using the field tools and compile a detailed report which covers the following sections.

  • Building Identification and a detailed listing of the various plant being audited.
  • A Summary of the Audit findings broken into three sectors
    • Non Code Compliance items
    • Unsatisfactory Maintenance items
    • Equipment that requires replacement or would benefit from replacement
  • A Safety Alert summary which outlines any hazards – current or perceived

MINC Risk Services look forward to helping answer your questions and developing your business to the new highs in the area of Health & Safety.
