Forklift operation– (QLD May 2010). The purpose of the safety alert is to remind employers and forklift operators of the need to operate forklifts in a safe manner. A recent fatality in Queensland has highlighted the need for employers and operators to ensure forklifts operations and processes meet best practice
 
Go-kart– (NSW April 2010). A fatal accident at a New South Wales go-kart track has prompted a safety alert, recommending people do not go for a ride if their hair or clothing is not properly secured. The 26-year-old Sydney woman died earlier this month when her Islamic head dress got entangled in the rear axle of the go-kart at a Port Stephens track.
 
Foil ceiling insulation– (NT March 2010). Electrical workers & contractors, tradespersons and householders must be aware of the electrical safety risks associated with ceiling spaces where foil insulation has been laid.

MINC Risk Services are engaged by Developers, Builders, Property Managers or even Lift Companies to oversee the testing and commissioning of the new lift and escalator installations in preparation for hand over in to service operation and use by the end user.

During this period MINC Risk Services will ensure a number of critical elements are identified, tested and passed. Using our purpose developed Checking system and field tools, our staff shall work with the Lift Company staff through a list of checks and measures. Each stage shall be documented with accompanying pictures where required and submitted to the client as a report on conclusion of the works.

The Commissioning process will cover a number of areas including the following:

  • Inspection comparison against tendered requirements
  • Software testing and parameter record observed
  • Mechanical & Electrical checks, measures and testing
  • Ride Quality observation
  • Safety Critical testing, measuring and results recorded
  • General installation quality comments
  • Defects noted and reported
  • Ensure associated documents are collated and presented together with Operations Manuals
  • Supervise Hand Over process between Lift Company and Client
  • Issuing of Certificate of Compliance
